Paragliding Over Pokhara: A Sky-High Adventure

The moment my feet left the ground, my heart left my chest. Paragliding over Pokhara is an experience that defies description—only flying can truly capture the feeling.

My instructor, Raj, was reassuring as we prepared at Sarangkot, the paragliding takeoff point overlooking the valley. Despite my nervousness, his expertise and calm demeanor gave me confidence.

"Ready?" he asked. I nodded, unsure if I was actually ready but unwilling to miss this opportunity.

The run-up was quick. Two steps, then suddenly we were airborne. My stomach did a backflip as the ground disappeared beneath us. The sensation was neither fear nor pure joy—it was something entirely new.

Below, Phewa Lake sparkled like a mirror, reflecting the golden afternoon sun. The Annapurna range created a stunning backdrop. Flying wasn't just about the thrill; it was about perspective. From up there, all my worries seemed insignificant.

We soared for 45 minutes, riding thermals and gliding smoothly through the sky. Raj pointed out various landmarks—Begnas Lake to the east, World Peace Pagoda to the west. The Pokhara Valley looked like a painting.

When we finally landed back at the takeoff point, my legs were shaky but my spirit was soaring. Paragliding in Pokhara isn't just an activity—it's transcendence. If you visit Pokhara, do this. Your life will have a clear "before paragliding" and "after paragliding" demarcation.
